While the “left” bloc collectively obtained a majority with 88 seats, paving the way for Jonas Gahr Støre’s potential reelection as Prime Minister, the most significant electoral advancement was made by the far-right Progress Party (FRP). The FRP experienced a substantial surge in popularity, doubling its support and gaining considerable traction in the political landscape. The overall outcome indicates a fragmented political spectrum with both the traditional left maintaining influence and the far-right gaining notable ground.
