Chang’s Employee’s Winter Park Assault

A P.F. Chang’s employee in Scottsdale, Arizona, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after allegedly severely beating a customer, causing life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred following a dispute inside the restaurant, escalating after the customer allegedly made a racist remark.

The altercation began when the customer and a female companion were seated at the bar. Witnesses reported the customer became belligerent and directed a racial slur toward the employee. The employee, identified as James Ziemba, reportedly followed the customer outside after the man and woman had left.

Surveillance footage allegedly shows Ziemba punching the customer, causing him to fall and hit his head on the ground. The victim suffered a fractured skull and brain bleed, requiring hospitalization in critical condition.

Ziemba was apprehended at the scene and admitted to hitting the man, claiming he acted in self-defense after being threatened. However, authorities stated that the video evidence contradicts his account. He is currently held on a $25,000 bond. P.F. Chang’s has issued a statement acknowledging the incident and stating they are fully cooperating with the investigation, and that they have suspended the employee in question.
