Stolen Beauty

Nine-year-old Liya Smit, a South African girl, has been missing since Monday, June 10th, and authorities are urgently seeking the public’s help to find her. She was last seen playing in the street near her home in Eersterust, east of Pretoria, at around 1 p.m. Despite extensive search efforts by police, community members, and specialized units, Liya remains missing.

Police have urged anyone with information to come forward and have emphasized the urgent need to locate her, stating that every piece of information, no matter how small, could be crucial. Community patrols, door-to-door searches, and aerial support have been utilized in the attempt to find her. Authorities are actively investigating all possible leads to ensure her safe return.

The public is asked to contact the Eersterust Police or Crime Stop immediately if they have any information about Liya Smit’s whereabouts. Pictures of Liya have been widely circulated on social media in hopes of generating leads and increasing awareness of her disappearance. The community is deeply concerned and rallying together to support the search efforts and the Smit family.
