Antler Heist Guardian Trespass

A National Guard helicopter crew in Minnesota rescued 11 people and four pets from a neighborhood in Montevideo, Minnesota, that was severely impacted by flooding caused by the swollen Minnesota River. The Black Hawk helicopter crew from the Minnesota National Guard’s 1-112th Aviation Battalion was dispatched to conduct the rescue operation after floodwaters rapidly rose, trapping residents in their homes.

The rescue efforts took place in an area where residents were stranded due to the high water levels, with some homes submerged up to their roofs. The crew braved challenging conditions to locate and safely hoist individuals and their pets into the helicopter. The swift water and submerged structures presented significant obstacles during the rescue operation.

The successful rescue operation was attributed to the crew’s expertise, training, and coordination with local authorities. All 11 residents and four pets were successfully evacuated and transported to safety, demonstrating the vital role of the National Guard in providing emergency response and support during natural disasters. The operation highlighted the importance of preparedness and the ability to rapidly deploy resources to assist communities in need.
