In June 2025, Northern Ireland experienced five consecutive nights of escalating anti-migrant unrest. Starting as protests, the events quickly devolved into riots and targeted attacks on property. The unrest was specifically directed at migrant workers, with their homes becoming primary targets. The violence reached a peak when homes belonging to migrant workers were deliberately set on fire, causing significant damage and displacement. In a separate incident, a leisure center was also petrol bombed, further highlighting the intensity and destructive nature of the anti-migrant sentiment. These events underscored a period of heightened tension and violence aimed at the migrant community in Northern Ireland.
