Labor’s Uprising: EMEA

A general strike erupted in the Ramallah governorate of the West Bank in response to the escalating violence and killings of Palestinians by Israeli settlers. The strike, encompassing various sectors, aims to protest the lack of protection and accountability for these acts of aggression.

Meanwhile, in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT), teachers and council workers are persisting in their ongoing strike action. Their demands center around the implementation of the national minimum wage and the payment of outstanding salary arrears. The workers allege that authorities have failed to adequately address their concerns, leading to continued disruptions in essential services like education and local administration. These simultaneous labor actions in Palestine and Nigeria highlight widespread grievances related to security, economic justice, and government responsiveness.
