I’m a progressive. I don’t like Donald Trump. I’ve opposed his policies, his rhetoric, and his toxic influence on this country. But I’ll say something that might catch people off guard:
I wanted Trump to release the Epstein files.
In fact, I was hoping he would.
Not because I support him. Not because I believe in his agenda. But because I believe in something else — something I haven’t really talked about publicly until now:
No more half measures.
That’s the principle I’ve come to live by. I’m done with symbolic gestures. I’m done with political games, deflections, and “just enough” to quiet the public. When it comes to something as serious and deeply rooted as the Epstein network — a system of abuse, blackmail, and elite protection — anything short of full accountability is a betrayal.
And if Trump ever truly meant to release the files — if he ever promised to do it, if he ever hinted that he would — then he should have done it. Plain and simple.
Because the truth is, releasing those files could’ve changed everything. It could’ve exposed powerful people from all sides — Republicans, Democrats, celebrities, billionaires, royalty — anyone who participated, enabled, or looked the other way. The American public, and honestly the world, deserves to know who was involved. There shouldn’t be any exceptions. There shouldn’t be any delay. And there sure as hell shouldn’t be any protection for the powerful.
We’ve waited long enough.
If Trump wanted to prove he was serious about rooting out corruption, about “draining the swamp,” then the Epstein files were the test. And he failed.
What’s worse is watching people defend him — people who claim to care about protecting children, about exposing pedophiles, about holding elites accountable. If that’s really what they care about, then they should be the loudest voices demanding the full release of the files.
Because here’s the blunt truth: if you’re not demanding those files be released, you’re defending pedophiles.
It doesn’t matter who it makes look bad. Even if Trump himself is on that list — or someone close to him — it’s better for the truth to come out now. Own it. Face it. Step down if you have to. But stop hiding behind this illusion of honesty while burying the one truth that could actually make a difference.
I’ve heard people say Trump is a straight shooter — someone who “says what he really thinks.” And honestly? I kind of agree. At least when it comes to things he genuinely believes, Trump tends to speak his mind. I may not like what he believes — in fact, I usually can’t stand it — but I won’t deny that he’s often bluntly honest about his views. That’s part of what makes his silence here so suspicious.
Because when it comes to the Epstein files? He goes quiet. Dodgy. Avoidant. And that silence speaks volumes. Either he’s protecting himself, or he’s protecting someone else. Maybe both. Either way, the American people — the world — deserve the truth.
So I’m saying it clearly:
Release the files.
All of them. No redactions. No stalling. No more secrecy.
If we really care about justice, if we really want to protect the vulnerable and expose the predators hiding behind power — then this is the moment to stand firm.
No more half measures.
