A 37-year-old New Jersey teacher, Jessica Piekielek, has pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child. The charges stem from an incident in February 2023 where she gave alcohol to a 14-year-old student.

Piekielek, a teacher at a middle school in Rockaway Township, admitted to providing the underage student with an alcoholic beverage in her home. Following the incident, she was immediately suspended from her teaching position without pay.

The guilty plea was entered in Superior Court in Morristown. As part of the plea agreement, the prosecutor will recommend a sentence of probation. Piekielek must also forfeit her teaching license and is permanently barred from holding public employment in New Jersey. Sentencing is scheduled for June 27th. The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office is handling the case.
