Four individuals—Deandra Buchanan, Tatyana Jenks, Reginald Jackson, and Gregory Jean-Baptiste—were found guilty in the murder of Bernard Graham, who was stabbed to death in 2020. The group lured Graham to a location under the false pretense of a sexual encounter with Jenks.

Prosecutors argued that Buchanan orchestrated the plan, driven by a motive of revenge stemming from a previous incident where Graham allegedly sexually assaulted Jenks. Evidence presented at trial included cell phone records and witness testimony placing all four defendants at the scene of the crime.

Buchanan was found guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder, while Jenks, Jackson, and Jean-Baptiste were convicted of second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. The convictions followed a trial where the defense attempted to argue that the defendants were not involved or that the killing was not premeditated. The jury ultimately sided with the prosecution’s argument of planned and coordinated violence resulting in Graham’s death. The defendants face varying sentences depending on the severity of their charges.
