Robot Utopia: Musk’s 2030 Promise

Elon Musk recently stated that Tesla will be “best at AI” and robotics within the next few years. He made this claim during a recent earnings call, highlighting Tesla’s progress in developing humanoid robots (Optimus) and full self-driving (FSD) capabilities.

Musk emphasized that Tesla’s advantage stems from its vast real-world data collected from its fleet of vehicles, crucial for training AI models. He believes this data gives Tesla a significant lead over competitors who lack such extensive operational experience. He anticipates Optimus will revolutionize manufacturing and other industries by performing repetitive and dangerous tasks.

Tesla is investing heavily in AI infrastructure, including building its own supercomputer, Dojo, to accelerate AI model training. Musk sees Dojo as a critical component in achieving full self-driving, which he believes will dramatically increase the value of Tesla vehicles.

He also clarified that while other companies are working on AI, Tesla’s focus is on applying AI to real-world physical problems, giving it a unique perspective and advantage. Musk predicted that Tesla’s long-term value will be significantly driven by its progress in AI and robotics, surpassing its current value as a car manufacturer.
