A woman in Palm Harbor, Florida, has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death after allegedly hitting and killing a pedestrian. The victim, a man in his 60s, was found dead near Tampa Road and Oak Trail Court early Saturday morning.
Detectives investigated the scene and pieced together evidence, including vehicle debris, to identify a suspect vehicle. They located the vehicle, a 2015-2017 Jeep Cherokee, at a nearby residence. The vehicle had damage consistent with the crash.
The suspect, identified as the registered owner of the Jeep, initially denied involvement in the incident. However, after further questioning, she reportedly admitted to hitting something in the road. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are still gathering information about the circumstances surrounding the incident. The suspect is currently being held at the Pinellas County Jail.
