Weathering the Storm: Arrest Clouds Meteorologist’s Forecast

WDSU Chief Meteorologist Margaret Orr was arrested in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, on charges of simple battery. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed the arrest stemmed from a dispute with a construction worker outside of her home.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a disturbance call at Orr’s residence on Thursday. The investigation revealed an argument had occurred between Orr and a construction worker. It is alleged that Orr struck the worker during the altercation. The Sheriff’s office did not release specific details regarding the nature of the disagreement.

Orr was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on the charge of simple battery. Simple battery in Louisiana is defined as the intentional use of force or violence upon the person of another.

WDSU has acknowledged the situation. A spokesperson for the station stated that they are aware of the situation involving Margaret Orr. They said they are gathering information and will take appropriate action as needed but had no further comment at the time. Orr’s profile has been removed from the WDSU website.
