🕊️ Interfaith Friday #26: Quakers March for Immigrant Rights

In May 2025, a group of Quakers embarked on a 300-mile march from New York City to Washington, D.C., protesting the Trump administration’s aggressive immigration policies. The marchers, representing the Religious Society of Friends, aim to deliver the 1657 “Flushing Remonstrance,” a historic document advocating for religious freedom, to symbolize their commitment to inclusive and humane immigration policies. Participants like Jess Hobbs Pifer and Max Goodman emphasize the historical relevance of Quaker activism, linking today’s resistance to the group’s past opposition to slavery, war, and injustice. Their action reflects their core values of social justice and humanitarian concern.
