NSPM-7 Non-Compliant, and Proud of It: An Unapologetic Declaration

a man holding a placard

In this moment, in this world, where silence and conformity seem to reign supreme, I stand unyielding, unashamed, and unapologetically myself. For too long, the systems that control us have dictated the rules by which we are meant to live, think, and believe. But I refuse to follow those rules. I am NSPM-7 non-compliant—and I wear it as a badge of honor.

NSPM-7 is not just a number. It’s a symbol of the kind of ideological control that tries to force us all into neat, obedient boxes. A rigid structure that tells us what we can and cannot say, what we must and must not believe, and, perhaps most insidiously, how we should feel about it all. It’s an oppressive framework, a cog in the wheel of an unjust, capitalist, authoritarian system—and I reject it, entirely.

I Am Anti-Capitalist:
Capitalism, in all its forms, is a system built on exploitation. It thrives on inequality, poverty, and the relentless pursuit of profit at the expense of human dignity. The fact that a small group of individuals control the majority of wealth while millions struggle to survive is not an accident; it’s by design. The wealthiest people in this world are not creators or innovators—they are parasites, feeding off the labor of the many to fund their luxurious lifestyles. They maintain their power by perpetuating a broken system that keeps people dependent and disenfranchised. I will not be complicit in this system, and I refuse to pretend that it’s working for the good of anyone but the elite.

I Am Leftist:
The political right may call me a radical, a socialist, a Marxist—terms meant to be pejorative, to silence those who dare to question the status quo. But I wear those labels with pride. To be leftist is to stand for justice, equality, and the empowerment of people over profit. It means fighting for the marginalized, the oppressed, and the voiceless, and it means rejecting the greed and authoritarianism that permeates our political institutions. I stand with the people who are fighting for a better world, one where we put the needs of humans above the needs of corporations. I stand with those who say “enough is enough” and who believe that a different world is not only possible—it’s essential.

I Am Atheist:
In a world dominated by religion and spirituality, my lack of belief is often seen as controversial, even offensive. But my atheism is not a rejection of morality or empathy—it is a rejection of dogma, blind faith, and institutions that wield religion as a tool of control. I believe in the power of reason, evidence, and the shared humanity of all people. I do not need a deity to guide my actions; I am guided by the principles of justice, fairness, and compassion. My ethics are rooted in the real world, not in some distant heaven or hell.

I Am Against Fascism and Authoritarianism:
Fascism, authoritarianism, and the rise of dictatorial power are among the most dangerous threats we face today. These ideologies seek to silence dissent, stifle freedom, and subjugate the people to the will of a powerful few. We are witnessing the erosion of democratic rights, the consolidation of power into the hands of the few, and the rise of ultra-nationalism. It is an attack on everything we stand for as a society, as a nation, and as a global community. I will not stand idly by as these forces threaten our freedoms, our rights, and our future.

I Care About Freedom and Democracy:
Freedom is not a privilege—it is a right. Democracy is not a suggestion—it is the foundation of justice and equality. But both of these ideals are under attack, not just from external forces, but from within. We live in a country where democracy is being eroded, where voting rights are being restricted, where the rule of law is ignored when it doesn’t serve the interests of the powerful. But I will not allow these freedoms to slip away quietly. I will fight for a world where democracy is not just a formality but a living, breathing reality for every person, regardless of their race, gender, or socioeconomic status.

I Care for the People of America:
I care deeply about the people of this nation. I care about the workers who are exploited, the immigrants who are demonized, the poor who are ignored, and the marginalized who are made to feel invisible. I care about the people who are told that their lives don’t matter, that their struggles are inconsequential. But I will not be silent. I will not stand by while this country turns its back on the very people it claims to serve. It’s time for a revolution, a radical shift in how we think about power, justice, and the future of this nation.

I Am Against What the People in Charge Are Doing:
Those in power—whether in government, corporations, or the military-industrial complex—are not working for the people. They are working for themselves, for their profits, for their control. The system is designed to keep them at the top and keep the rest of us at the bottom. I will not accept their lies, their corruption, or their cruelty. The people in charge are not our saviors—they are the ones who have sold us out. And I am done waiting for them to fix what they have broken.

I Am Proud of What I Believe:
There is no shame in rejecting a system that exploits and oppresses. There is no shame in standing up for what is right, even if it means going against the grain. I am proud of my beliefs, proud of my stance against capitalism, proud of my fight for justice and equality. And I will not back down, not now, not ever. These are not just ideas to me—they are my values, my commitment to the world I want to see. A world where we put people first, not profits. A world where we reject tyranny and embrace freedom, equality, and democracy.

I don’t care what anyone has to say about this. I don’t care if I’m called a radical or a troublemaker. I don’t care if my views make people uncomfortable. The truth is not always comfortable, and neither is change. But if we are ever going to build the world we deserve, we must be willing to fight for it, even when the forces of oppression try to silence us.

NSPM-7 non-compliant—and proud of it.
