Florida’s Hurricane Watch

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is monitoring two new disturbances in the Atlantic. The first, located several hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles, has a low chance of formation over the next seven days. It’s forecast to move generally westward, potentially reaching the Caribbean Sea by the weekend. Forecasters are still analyzing its potential for development.

The second disturbance, located near the Bahamas, has a low chance of formation in the next 48 hours, but a medium chance over the next seven days. This system is expected to move westward or west-northwestward, potentially crossing the Florida peninsula. Regardless of development, this disturbance is expected to bring increased rainfall to portions of Florida this week.

The NHC is closely tracking both disturbances and advising residents in the Caribbean and Florida to monitor future updates. While the likelihood of significant development for either system remains uncertain, the potential for heavy rain across Florida is increasing, and residents are encouraged to stay informed about local forecasts and any potential advisories issued by the NHC.
